This month FHDC received a furniture donation from Wells Fargo through a partnership with Green Standards: https://greenstandardsltd.com/. Green Standards  is an environmental firm that helps other non-profits receive quality furniture donations from private organizations that would otherwise end up in the landfill.

Green Standards states on their website that the “EPA estimates 8.5 million tons of office furniture and equipment are sent to the landfill each year in the US alone. By working with likeminded organizations, we can keep these items in use and out of the landfill.”

We are excited to put good things to use in the form of quality used desks, tables, cabinets, a projector screen, and whiteboards. All of the furniture makes a difference when it’s time to update our community education centers and community rooms.
