Summer Fun at Colonia Libertad in Salem

Nuevo Amanecer wasn’t the only place to host an FHDC-style pachanga for National Night Out.   Colonia Libertad in Salem welcomed more than 80 people to enjoy a talent show featuring resident musicians, food, raffles, back-to-school supplies, and resources and connections to organizations for all families. One of the important aspects of the event was that residents brought their own plates, cups, and utensils so that minimal waste was created from the event, our efforts to take care of the planet and each other are forever part of our decision making processes.

Our Summer Youth Programming at Colonia Libertad is wrapping up this month with Margarita and Tito volunteering to support children through art, food, and recreation. The summer enrichment activities occurred twice a week for half-days. Mil gracias to all of our volunteers for positively influencing our children, and making an impact on their personal and social development!
