We were thrilled to join housing champions from across Oregon at Housing Oregon’s annual conference. During the conference’s Industry Awards Night, we celebrated exceptional leaders in the housing community, including Tonya Kenyon of FHDC and José Álvarez of Evolve!
Tonya and José received the Star Player Award, which recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions in advancing organizational housing goals and consistently demonstrating excellence in their roles.

Tonya Kenyon
We are honored to nominate Tonya Kenyon for the Star Player award. Tonya exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated team player—consistently going above and beyond to support every member of our organization. Whether she is ensuring our all-staff meetings run seamlessly, handling HR-related matters, or managing payroll with precision for the entire team, Tonya’s attention to detail and care for others shines through. She also fosters a positive and wellness-oriented culture, encouraging us to participate in walking challenges and creatively organizing teambuilding activities that bring us together. Her commitment, creativity, and genuine concern for our collective well-being have made a true impact on our team. We are fortunate to have Tonya as a colleague, and our workplace is stronger and more unified because of her contributions!
José Álvarez
We are proud to nominate José Alvarez for the Star Player award. José has been a cornerstone of our organization for over 20 years—since May 13, 2005, to be exact! His expertise with commercial appliances and specialized tools is unparalleled, and his resourcefulness enables him to solve the most complex challenges in the property management sector. Beyond his technical skills, José is known for his kindness and strong work ethic. He uplifts those around him—both professionally, by sharing his knowledge and supporting team members, and personally, by bringing joy and camaraderie to any gathering (his karaoke performances are legendary!). José’s commitment, integrity, and positive spirit have made a lasting impact on our team, and we are fortunate to have him as a colleague!
