FHDC is excited to announce the rollout of a new program in partnership with Girl Scouts to provide after school programming at Colonia Libertad in Salem throughout the school year.
The new program will cover various themes in financial literacy and business for female youth Kindergarten through 8th grade to help prepare them with tangible skills and confidence building.
Due to the strong interest in the program from both kids and parents, two groups of students will meet regularly. The pilot project is also a learning experience for the moms who each signed a contract for supporting their daughters and committed to learning together 😊
Girls will learn vital life skills and earn badges in regards to earning and using money in the following areas:
- Goal setting
- Money Management
- Sales and Marketing
- Teamwork
- Community Involvement
- Responsibility
- Confidence
The program will take place in the Colonia Libertad Community room on Thursdays 4 to 7pm and the Computer lab all evenings 4 to 8:00 pm starting on Thursday September 27th.
