FHDC is beyond excited to have the opportunity to have hired a respected housing developer, Claudia Cantu. She will be an instrumental member of our team and we are lucky to have her!
Prior to joining FHDC, Claudia worked at CASA of Oregon for 21+ years. During her time at CASA, she had risen through the ranks and held positions including Administrative Assistant, Housing Program Assistant, Housing Program Manager, Senior Program Manager and Housing Director. As the Director, she helped other organizations develop new rural housing and community facilities and rehabilitate existing housing throughout rural communities in Oregon. Her work includes conceptualization and feasibility, loan and grant packaging, development and operating budgets, management of design, construction, and compliance. Her work takes her statewide and her working relationships exemplify the quality of her work and her commitment to organizations and communities she works with. Claudia has received extensive leadership training from the National Association of Latino Asset Builders, the Ford Institute and The Luke Center. Her leading from the heart approach keeps all members of very complex development processes working in sync and on time.
Directly out of the gate for FHDC, Claudia will oversee the development of Colonia Unidad, the rehabilitation of Esperanza Court, and will focus on building cross-sector partnerships to create a pipeline a future developments so that FHDC becomes a major player in mitigating the affordable housing crisis in mostly rural Oregon. In photos, Claudia is pictured on the left with Maria Elena Guerra, Margarett Salazar and Joni Hartmann. In the body of this post, Claudia is pictured in the center chatting with staff from LMC Construction about the recent groundbreaking for Colonia Unidad.
Bienvenida, Claudia!
