In the recent weeks, FHDC has grown its team from 4 to 6 in order to build capacity to develop affordable housing and meet the diverse needs of its rural and urban communities.
FHDC is happy to have hired Kelvin Valdovinos to support housing development and asset management activities. Kelvin, who grew up in the Willamette Valley and attended Willamette University in Salem, will offer critical energy and an economic lens needed to track the details of our affordable housing development strategies.
Additionally, FHDC welcomed Anabel Hernandez-Mejia to the team to support Resident Services, specifically to support the planning, launch and growth of FHDC Promotores Resident Leadership Development Initiative designed to uplift and empower residents to become trusted leaders in their housing communities and communities at large. Anabel has specialized skills in communication and community organizing and will play a robust role in ensuring our communities have access to the services they need.
FHDC has many plans for housing development and accompanying resident services and is happy to have grown its capacity to further pursue our mission, due in part from generous support from Meyer Memorial Trust, NALCAB, Kaiser Permanente, Enterprise, and The Ford Family Foundation. FHDC’s housing development activities will seek to support the sustainability of the organization of the course of the next several years.
