In an effort to bring more equitable representation and the district administrative and faculty level, the Independence Central School District Superintendent, Jennifer Kubista, visited our community to share the school district goals for community partnership which is designed to cultivate student success via safe, healthy, prosperous, and inclusive communities.
Within the District of 5 schools, 18 different languages are spoke and 45% are Latinx students, though the representation of administrators and teachers does not reflect the student demographics, and leadership is trying to change that.
Students and parents both shared their ideas and about increasing equitable representation and what makes them feel safe and accepted in schools and their communities. We appreciate the opportunity to influence and share feedback about the District’s efforts to become more inclusive and look forward to continuing the partnership .
