Colonia Paz in Lebanon, Oregon has been nearly 4 years in the making. In collaboration with community-based organizations, local jurisdictions, and the State of Oregon, Lebanon was identified as a town with a high housing burden and a growing need for affordable housing. Earlier this year, we were joined by several partners to break ground on the site, which will eventually welcome more than 120 units of housing.
Our latest event was an effort to bring together the community and ramp up for leasing to fill the beautiful new units with families and individuals in need, specifically workers in agriculture and other food-processing industries.
We were pleased to offer food boxes, a warm taco lunch, and a vaccination site / van provided by Linn County Health Authority. The day welcomed a total of 120 visitors.
A special thank you to our partners, who were able to set up information tables: Casa Latinos Unidos, Linn County Health Authority, Good Samaritan hospital and Community Service Consortium, who supported us with tents/tables/and the food truck
