This year FHDC was pleased to be recognized by Housing Oregon for our work in partnership with Evolve to create equitable jobs and pathways for career development for low-income communities in the Property Management industry. Every year, Housing Oregon (formerly Oregon Opportunity Network) acknowledges individuals and Organizations who have made a difference in the lives of Oregonians through equitable housing and development practices.
In 2016, FHDC formed Evolve, a new non-profit to focus on workforce development to ensure that residents in our housing communities have the opportunity to explore careers beyond the farm labor industry. With this effort, more than 20 new jobs have been created and Evolve is steadily being seen as a new model for property management that prioritizes people-first. Its mission ensures that people of color and low-income individuals have the opportunity to advance in a growing industry.
At the Housing Oregon Gala, $100,000 was raised for resources to continue fighting for investments in affordable housing, and serving members with trainings and technical assistance for Oregonians.
