Executive Director, Maria Elena Guerra participated in a conference panel sharing FHDC and Evolve’s experience in delivering culturally specific housing and the unique needs of our communities.
Currently, youth and families are taking Zapotec and Mixteco language classes two times a week. The Indigenous language and cultural enrichment activities will continue through the school year and into summer, combined with care and weekly harvests at the community garden.
With nearly 80% of families moved into the affordable and spacious new units, 116 families will call Colonia Paz home this Spring!

Year end celebrations continued with the completion of the first of four complex buildings of Colonia Paz II and receiving 29 new families.
In collaboration with Rural Development Initiatives (RDI), we hosted Pasos al Éxito for the Woodburn community at our Cipriano Ferrel Education Center.
FHDC and Evolve gathered with residents to celebrate the season. Residents of all ages came together to share with one another.
