MCHA and FHDC partnering for Health Care Access

FHDC and Marion County Housing Authority (MCHA) joined forces to reach out to communities in Woodburn and Silverton who may be uninsured, and that do not qualify for the Oregon Health Plan. The initiative –I’m healthy! / ¡Soy sano!– was piloted in early 2017 by the Oregon Health Authority. FHDC has staff dedicated at every property to ensure that youth and families are aware of the program.

The partnership with MCHA allows for joint efforts to reach more communities and create collaboration with partners that share a similar mission. FHDC Staff Maria Maciel and Margarita Bautista joined MCHA staff Maria Solorio for two days last week where they reached over 100 households, and were able to get a few referrals to the program.

Specifically,I’m healthy! / ¡Soy sano! targets children 0-18 to provide access to primary and preventative health care.  We are pleased to team up with MCHA to ensure that families get access and referrals to resources in the community.
